Voznesensky also contributed to the art world through means other than the generic page. He collaborated with the composer Alexei Rybnikov on the über-successful rock opera Juno and Avos, first performed in 1981. Juno and Avos was such a hit in Russia that it was reproduced in London, Paris, and New York.
Voznesensky also wrote the lyrics for Alla Pugacheva’s smash hit pop song “A Million Scarlet Roses” in 1984.
'Videoms' One unique contribution of Voznesensky’s was something he called a videom. Videoms are poems expressed through words and images on canvas paper. These poems were minimalist poems, meaning they were about making reforms to the current political situation.
Voznesensky worked on these videoms throughout the later part of his life for the Pasternak museum. Voznesensky’s videoms were displayed in various locations including New York, Berlin, and Paris. |

Throughout his career, Andrei Voznesensky underwent much criticism and threats. However, he persevered, and the fruits of his efforts paid off. In the end, he was acknowledged by leaders and fans alike, and received the respect he deserved.
Tirelessly, he wrote (and even had to secretly publish his works abroad) for the people.
Yet, Andrei Voznesensky wasn't bound by 'Awards and Abuses'. He was bound by will, determination, and perseverance.
He was the man of the people, and a 'Child of the 60s'.
